Hocus Pocus, lace up your boots, grab your broom, and it’s time to fly!

Whether throwing a Halloween party or just needing cheap Halloween decorations, you can’t go wrong at the Dollar Tree.

Dollar Tree Halloween DIY

This Halloween, I wanted to make some DIY Hocus Pocus decorations.

I was able to make DIY spell books and potion bottles super cheap using some Dollar Tree Hacks.

The best thing and the worst thing about Dollar Tree is everything is CHEAP.

Many times, you have to “hack” it, to make it into something nice.

If you have been following me, you know that I like to do Dollar Tree Hacks.

Last time, I took some orange foam pumpkins and turned them into expensive-looking fall decor, check them out here.

This time, I needed cheap Halloween décor to look expensive.

I was inspired by some faux spell books that I saw at the mall, but I didn’t want to pay the high price tag.

So I made a quick trip to the Dollar Tree, picked up some chunky books, smoked wine glasses, decorative glass bottles, skulls, and eyeballs.

Wow, that indeed, just made me sound really witchy.

Witch Apothecary

Once I had all of my supplies from Dollar Tree, then it was time to get out the black spray paint.

Luckily, I was able to use spray paint that I already had and it worked perfectly.

To get that really matte black color, I used Rust-Oleum Universal All Surface Spray Paint Flat Black.

The flat black was a perfect canvas for my White Glass Paint Marker.

I could write the words “potion” and “venom” on the bottles.

I thought about printing off potion labels but I thought it looked more authentic in my handwriting.

For the last bottle, I used one of my favorites, Krylon Looking Glass Silver. This is a favorite of mine because I love the look of mercury glass.

If you lightly spray a mix of vinegar and water on an object, before you spray the Krylon, it looks like rustic mercury glass because the spray paint will not adhere to the vinegar and water mix.

I spray-painted the books, wine glasses, and one of the bottles black then wrote on them with my paint marker.

Be sure to add some little skulls and plastic yes from the Dollar Tree Halloween craft area to put the finishing touches on the DIY witch apothecary.

You can be as creative as you want.
