Let’s make a simple DIY carrot garland for Easter!
This easy Easter craft is a favorite for kids because it’s fun to make!

Easter is one of my favorite holidays, second to Christmas.
I love that we have a holiday during the spring while all the flowers and trees are blooming.
There’s just something about Easter that makes you want to slow down a little.
I love to open the windows, let the sunshine in, and add a few cheerful touches around the house.
As many of my readers know, my favorite holiday decorations aren’t store-bought at all… they’re the ones I have made, especially with my kids.

So I thought I would share this simple DIY carrot garland.
I love making DIY garlands. I hang them in my kitchen windows and mantel.
This simple DIY carrot garland is one of those easy crafts that feels fun from start to finish.
It doesn’t require anything fancy, and it’s perfect for a relaxed afternoon at the kitchen table.
DIY Carrot Garland For Easter

Here’s what you’ll need:
- Orange construction paper
- Green crepe paper
- Scissors
- Yarn
- Clear tape
Instructions:
1. Start by cutting a rectangle out of your orange construction paper.
There’s no exact size, just go with what feels right.
Bigger pieces make chunkier carrots, and smaller ones feel a bit more dainty.
We mixed up the sizes.

2. Next, fold the paper back and forth like an accordion (my kids loved this part).
Once you’ve done that, fold it in half so it starts to take on that carrot shape.
Use a small piece of clear tape to secure the ends together.
At this point, it should actually look like a little carrot.

3. Then grab your green crepe paper and cut a small rectangle for the top.
You can scrunch it slightly or twist it a bit to give it that leafy look, and then tape it onto the top of your carrot.

4. After that, turn your carrots over and tape a piece of yarn along the back.
Keep going until you have as many carrots as you’d like, spacing them out however you prefer along the yarn.

Ta-da! Your homemade carrot garland is ready!

What I love most about this craft is that it doesn’t have to be perfect.
In fact, it’s better when it’s not. The uneven folds, the slightly crooked carrots, the different sizes, all of that is what gives it character.
I think even Peter Cottontail would approve.
Hang it up, step back, and enjoy that little burst of spring.
It’s simple, it’s sweet, and somehow it just makes the whole space feel a bit brighter.
You can hang it in a window, drape it across your mantel, or even string it along a shelf for a little pop of spring color.
