Door Hearts For Valentine’s Day

You only need paper hearts for a fun and easy Valentine’s Day activity.

Cut out heart shapes from colored construction paper or cardstock to your desired size.

You can cut them any size you want.

Last year, I made many of our hearts from colored post-its.

I use pink hearts, red hearts, and purple hearts.

But you can use any color you want!

I love creating meaningful family traditions, and one of my favorites is writing messages of love and encouragement on heart-shaped pieces of paper.

This is a great activity for kids of all ages, as younger kids can practice reading while older kids can even write their own messages.

It’s also a fun way to create a keepsake box filled with memories your family can reflect on for years to come.

Whether you keep the hearts in a box or display them on a bulletin board, this tradition will surely bring your family smiles and warm feelings.

What Should I Write Valentine Door Hearts?

When it comes to writing messages on door hearts for Valentine’s Day, it can be challenging to come up with the right words to express our love and admiration for our kids.

As a parent, I strive to write messages that inspire and encourage my children.

I make sure to point out good character traits that I’m proud of rather than focusing on appearance-related comments like “You’re so pretty.”

While including a few messages like these is okay, I aim to keep most of them related to building their character.

It’s important not to overthink it when writing door hearts.

What matters most is that our kids feel loved and encouraged.

Give Your Kids A Heart Attack On Their Door!

heart messages hearts on doors for valentines day

Last year, I started a tradition of giving my kids a heart attack on their door.

I did this by covering their door with hearts on February 1.

I usually start this tradition on February 1st, but you can choose any day that works best for your family.

I place a new heart on each of my kids’ bedroom doors after they go to bed or right before they wake up.

We read the new message each morning, and it’s such a great way to start the day!

I put up the door heart messages for 14 days, until Valentine’s Day, and then surprise them with a bigger gift. The hearts remain on the door the whole month of February (sometimes longer) and serve as a great reminder of how much they are loved.

The number of days and timing of the messages is up to you and your family.

You can customize the activity to fit your needs. Either way, the kids will be excited!

It’s a great way to encourage them and celebrate the season of love.

Plus, it makes the perfect Valentine’s Day decor for your home!
