Roses are red. Violets are blue. I decorated my home for Valentine’s Day and so can you.

I have come up with some simple Valentine’s day home decor ideas that will say “I love you” to your family and friends.

These simple and budget-friendly touches will let you celebrate Valentine’s day at home with your loved ones.

Valentine’s Day Colors

It is really easy to get your home Valentine’s Day ready by just adding splashes of red and pink.

You don’t have to go overboard. Adding a touch here and there will go a long way.

My daughter asked why are the colors of Valentine’s day red and pink?

I told her because they both symbolize love and sweetness.

Then I researched the history of it to give her a full explanation (homeschool mom here), and I found out it dates back to Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of Love.

Valentine’s Day Hot Chocolate Bar

If you are celebrating Valentine’s day at home, then snuggling up with hot chocolate is a great start.

Make a little hot chocolate bar with all your favorite toppings.

Our favorite toppings include mini-marshmallows, chocolate chips, and chocolate drizzle.

Don’t forget to add some cute mugs!

Hot chocolate is definitely a way to warm the hearts of your loved ones.

Here is my very favorite recipe. This decadent drink is so delicious because it’s made with real chocolate.

It will make you forget about your Valentine’s candy.

This recipe is perfect to please anyone at your Valentine’s Day party, but it also can be enjoyed by only two.

Valentine’s Day Throw Pillows

An easy way to decorate your home for any holiday is with new throw pillows.

I have plush pillows for every holiday that I just throw on our sofa.

It is an easy decoration that takes no effort but looks great.

Just leave out your red throw blanket and pillows from Christmas (that’s what I do). The red will be perfect for your Valentine’s Day home decor ideas.

DIY Valentine Wreaths

If you have read any of my other posts, you may know that I love to decorate my kitchen cabinets with mini-wreaths.

It is such a simple and inexpensive touch that really makes my kitchen look festive for any holiday.

For Christmas, I had made mini-wreaths with dried orange slices and the Valentine mini-wreaths have pink and red wooden hearts.

Farmhouse Valentine Decor

My home is filled with wooden farmhouse signs.

Some we have made ourselves, some we have bought.

They always have a special quote that resonates with me.

This one especially makes me think of my husband.

I know the term “soul-mates” sounds cheesy, but it is true, I have found the one whom my soul loves.

Romantic House Plants

Don’t forget, there are plants for Valentine’s Day other than roses.

Succulents are my all-time favorite plant. I have them in almost every room of my home.

They have a very unique beauty and are hardy enough that even someone with a “purple” thumb can keep them alive.
