Feel great about these gifts because there are many benefits of educational toys!Best Educational toys for kids. Benefits of educational toys. For Christmas and birthdays, we love to give our kiddos educational gifts. As home-schoolers, these gifts can be great learning resources to use every day. The reason we LOVE educational gifts is that they provide hours of activities that make learning fun.

Kid-Approved Educational Gifts

Whether you are a homeschooling family or not, giving your child an educational gift is a win-win situation. Below, we are sharing some of our favorite educational gifts for kids, some we own and some we have on our Christmas list.

Little Passports

We love Little Passports because they give the gift of adventure. As a subscription box, it is the gift that keeps giving. They have so much to offer kids of all ages and interests. For the little ones they have Early Explorers for 3-5-year-olds, where can they explore a new world theme each month, like music, oceans, and dinosaurs. World Edition for 6-10 year olds lets kids discover a new country each month, with souvenirs and hands-on activities. There is also a USA Edition.

For your kids who love experiments, the Science Expeditions is an amazing learning tool that reveals mysteries of the world through science experiments and fun hands-on activities. We love all the Little Passports boxes, they have never disappointed our family.

Interactive Talking Globe

This Oregon Scientific SG268R Smart Globe is great asset for your child’s learning. My daughter plays with this for hours and has learned so much. She loves to share her world trivia knowledge that this globe has taught her. This interactive globe speaks as your child plays along, giving many fun, knowledgeable facts about many different countries. It even has it’s own app that brings all the lessons to life.

Silly Sentences

The Silly Sentences game has been hands-down one of my children’s favorite games. This is a classic that can never go out of style. My mother bought it for my oldest daughter when she was a preschooler, she is now a teen and still loves to play. It really emphasizes all the parts of speech, including prepositions. This fun game always has my children laughing, while learning.

Magnet Tiles

Whether you go with the well-known Magna-Tiles or the more affordable Playmags, your kids will spend hours building many different shaped objects. From forts to moving cars, these fun magnets can entertain all ages. My children like to build them on our window sills to create beautiful stained-glass mosaics.

Amazon Fire Kid Edition

We LOVE the Amazon Fire 7 Kids Edition Tablet. Our pediatrician recommended the Amazon fire tablet to us after our very expensive Apple Ipad broke. For children, you can’t go wrong with the Kids Fire Tablet. It has a child-proof case, but if for any reason it still gets broken within the first 2 years, Amazon will replace it for free with no questions asked.

This Kids edition also offers 1 year of FreeTime Unlimited that gives your kids access to over 15,000 apps and games, videos, books, and educational content from PBS Kids, Nickelodeon, Disney, and more. Also, whatever is downloaded from FreeTime, whether it be your kid’s favorite show or app, will work without wi-fi, making it perfect for road trips!

This Grow ‘n Glow Terrarium – Science Kit for Kids will be under our Christmas tree this year. This complete kit comes with everything you need for two full plant life cycles. This will be such a fun educational gift that let’s kids create their own eco-system and learn about botany and the life cycle of plants. Can’t wait until my kids get to open this one! It will be fun for all ages.

Butterfly Garden

Another classic educational gift, is a Butterfly Growing Kit. This gift mesmerizes kids and adults of all ages. The wonder of watching the caterpillar transform into a butterfly is truly amazing. My kids get so excited and check every morning for their new friends to emerge from the chrysalises.

Dinosaur Dig Kit

This National Geographic Dinosaur Dig Kit is an awesome hands-on learning activity for kids of all ages. It has REAL fossils to give kids a true learning experience. Any toy made by National Geographic will be a great learning resource and is always backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Brain Builders

Brain Builders is an awesome game for kids who love problem-solving, building, or to just be creative. This is another educational toy that I can’t wait for my kids to use. It is a unique STEM challenging activity that has kids thinking outside the box. Many teachers use this in the classrooms because it stimulates both sides of the brain.

Story Cubes

Story Cubes are another great game that my kids have loved over the years. This game will sharpen your child’s wits and hone their imagination. It can be played solo or with more players. My kids get really creative with it and make up such imaginative stories that we all enjoy hearing.

Lego Chain Reaction Kit

This LEGO Chain Reactions Craft Kit would be an awesome gift for any LEGO-lover. This seems like the LEGO equivalent to the mouse trap game of my youth. What kid doesn’t love a chain reaction. This award-winning kit, can build many different machines to make dozens of chain reactions to keep your kids intrigued for hours.

Botley the Coding Robot

Botley the Coding Robot is rated one of this year’s top toys. Botley helps your child learn early STEM skills while playing and having fun. He teaches kids to code with an active, screen-free play that’s perfect for promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This robot is great for children as young as 5, but with his advanced features, he can grow with them for many fun years together. Coding is the future, this robot can give your child a head start.

Microscope

This awesome Dual LED Student Microscope will be under our Christmas tree this year. My teen asked for this student microscope, that comes with over 50 accessories. This is another National Geographic product that has a 100% guarantee. This comes at an amazing price, with all it offers, and it is 5 star-rated. This is a top-notch educational gift for any young scholar.

Brickyard STEM Building Blocks

The Brickyard STEM Engineering Blocks lets your children use their imagination for hours. This STEM toy develops kids science, technology, and math skills. There are enough tools for a group of kids to build at the same time. From castles to race-cars the building possibilities are endless.

Pop-up Science Books

These books are AMAZING! Full of fascinating facts and breathtaking pop-ups, kids will want to read them over and over again!

Benefits of Educational Toys

No matter what educational gifts you get for your kids this year, you are giving the gift of learning. Educational gifts nurture a child’s natural curiosity and encourage a love of science, language, math, STEM, and creativity. You can’t go wrong in purchasing a gift that keeps on giving.
