If you have never made homemade hot chocolate with REAL CHOCOLATE, in a Crockpot, you are missing out!

This creamy hot chocolate is the most delicious warm drink you will ever have.

I make this recipe several times during the holiday season.

As a tradition, we always make this before we drive-around town admiring Christmas lights.

It is also a staple at any of our Christmas gatherings. It is always a huge crowd-pleaser.

Easy Crockpot Hot Chocolate

This recipe is so simple your children can help out.

My kids always pour all the ingredients into the crockpot so they can announce to everyone that they made the best hot chocolate ever.

Another wonderful advantage of this recipe is that making hot chocolate in the crock-pot makes your kitchen smell amazing!

When making hot chocolate for a large crowd, using a slow cooker is ideal.

Not only can you make a large quantity, but you can walk away from it and know it will still be perfect.

Crockpot Hot Chocolate Made With Real Chocolate

I love hot cocoa, but there is something really special about hot chocolate made out of melted chocolate.

It is so decadent, you will want seconds.

This hot chocolate recipe is so simple, only asking for 5 ingredients to be dumped into your slow-cooker.

The rich taste of milk chocolate chips mixed with the creamy base of milk and half & half makes this recipe the BEST HOT CHOCOLATE RECIPE EVER (quoting my three kiddos there).

Hot Chocolate Bar

If you are making this recipe for a party, I suggest you set up a hot chocolate bar. Hot chocolate bars are really popular and such a fun addition to any holiday gathering.

Hot chocolate bar supplies are super easy, you just need some mugs and delicious toppings.

Toppings can include chocolate chips of all flavors, marshmallows (of course), whip cream, chocolate drizzle, caramel drizzle, coconut, candy canes, and hazelnut cookie sticks.

Could this be done on the stove top as well though? And for how long?

Hi Shannon,

I did make a small quick batch on the stove top recently and it didn't turn out as good. Granted it was still good hot chocolate but it is so much better in the crockpot. If you do cook it on the stove top then make sure you cook it on low, or the chocolate could burn.
